Meet our Guest: Vintage is Beautiful

Let’s meet Jenny, who is the busy owner of Vintage is Beautiful:

I am a busy mum of two little children – Rider who is nearly 5 years old and Ruby who is 2 years old. I love anything old, retro, shabby and vintage and wanted to put this love to use with babies clothing. ‘Vintage is Beautiful’ started with me wanting vintage clothing items for my little girl to wear – and couldn’t find anything I liked. I would love to continue to be a S.A.H mum for my kids, so make way for the birth of my passion and love of all things beautiful & vintage….

About your site…

I try and find vintage laces and trims, embellishments to add to basic everyday items to make that piece extra special. All my items are made to my tough standards; if I wouldn’t put it on my child and be proud, I wouldn’t expect any less from my customers.

I believe there is not enough delicate lacey items for little bubbas and I agree to change this…. Our store is known for its ‘one off’ unique pieces at affordable prices. After all vintage is beautiful and thats what we make!

Our Planet Matters!

At Vintage Is Beautiful we love finding fabrics and laces that can be re-purposed into lovely dresses and outfits for little ones… I love to recycle fabrics into new designs. I’m sure the people who made one of the vintage table cloths we found never thought it would be turned into bloomers and hat sets for darling little girls to run around in! We are also conscious of packing materials and use as little as possible, plus we also have bio-degradable plasic bags when doing a market stall.

Every little bit helps.

Where do we go first?

Let’s talk more! Here is a question from Jenny for you to respond to:

Do mums like any lace on baby boys items? If so what would be appropriate?

  1. I just ADORE lace on girls, but I don’t think I would put lace on my son…except maybe on newborn booties, that might be the only exception!

  2. Maybe on special items, eg bootee’s & bonnets, I would use them for something like a christening or wedding when he is little. I’m not sure if I would once he got a little bit older.
