Hi! I’m Monique, the person behind online store Your Cheeky Monkey. I live in Queensland, and have a husband, 2 sons (aged 3 and 4 – they are exactly 12 months apart), and a boxer dog.

About your site:

At Your Cheeky Monkey I specialize in products I make myself for babies through to Mums. I started the business 2 years ago after some major family and job upheavals, and then deciding I wanted to work for myself from home. I have sewn and crafted my whole life, and wanted to share my products with everyone else. I also stock a range of other great handmade or natural products, mainly from other small Australian or Fair Trade businesses. Your Cheeky Monkey was a perfect business name for me, it reminds me everyday why I am running my own business – that is, to be available for my sons who are my cheeky monkey’s! A lot concerns me about our planet in our present time. We seem to be such a truly wasteful society in so many ways. But I do believe the hard work starts at home, one person CAN start making a difference, and if many people make small changes it will mean a huge change around the world. I believe in replacing plastic shopping bags with re-usable ones. I believe in cloth menstrual pads and nappies. I believe in recycling and upcycling clothes and fabrics. I believe in recycling as many household products as you can. I believe in simple, natural and gentle products for the home and body.
