Hello. My name is Yoland. I live in the hills near Perth. I became a mum when I was in my twenties and again recently in my forties. It makes life very interesting (weird and wonderful) doing the baby thing again..after 20 years….

About Bumbino Nappies:

Twenty years ago cloth nappies were used in maternity hospitals and were “the norm”. My first two babies were therefore cloth babies by natural course of events.
So much has changed in the years between babies. I intended to use mainly cloth and occasional disposables with my new little guy but that didn’t last long. Each and every disposable nappy messed too much with my mind! After a few weeks we gave the disposables away altogether and carried on happily using cloth exclusively.

Bumbino Nappies evolved from my unexplained addiction to Modern Cloth Nappies and my recently rekindled love of fabric and sewing.
As well as collecting a great stash of various brands of cloth nappies and examining their best and worst features, I experimented from early days with many many creations of my own with view to creating a well designed and functional nappy.

Bumbino Nappies feature adjustable elastic in the leg and waist casings. This feature was inspired by the fact that several nappies in our stash were rendered useless simply because the elastic was too loose or too tight ( usually too tight). I was also keen on a “one size” nappy that could be eased into a smaller or larger shape, could be fine-tuned for fit at the waist and leg and did not have sizing studs and sockets showing on the front of the nappy

We are currently working as a home based business and our nappies and designer wetbags are made by my sister and myself. We have been operational since February 2010. We are currently exploring options for contracting out some of our sewing but hope to keep our product entirely Australian made.

I am increasingly conscious about the amount of waste we produce and the need to consider the use of more sustainable products and habits. I favour products that are not waste laden and are sustainable in their production and disposal. Cloth nappies fit that description and are the obvious choice for green babies!

My name is Alisha, I am a SAHM to two little ones – Joshua who is 3 and Olivia who is 10 months old. I am also ‘mum’ to a couple of ponies, a horse, a cat and a dog. Our family lives just north of Melbourne in Victoria.

About Baby Safari…

Baby Safari was started two and a half years ago when I discovered the wonders of MCN and decided I needed to help spread the word! When I decided to use cloth I expected that it would be terry squares and covers, how wrong was I. Modern cloth is just so easy and cute!

My incredibly supportive family have been behind me all the way and that enabled me to release our own line of economical nappies as well as retail some of my other favourite brands. I can only sew in a straight line so our production is outsourced but we have done our best to ensure our nappies are made ethically.

I have a lot of concerns but I will just pick one in an effort to keep it brief!! Water is a big concern of mine. I am scared that running out of clean drinking water could one day become a very real possibility. I feel it is another resource that is poorly managed by the ‘powers that be’ and I get upset at people who put bores in and then water their gardens relentlessly under the misguided belief that the water underground will never run dry. The drinking quality water should be retained for washing, drinking and for livestock to drink. I’d love to see recycled water brought in to the cities for toilets and laundries.

Our Planet worries me so much every day – especially seeing our little ones so young and what will it all be like when they have families of their own.

Saving the planet seems like such a daunting task, I believe many people disregard the seriousness of it all simply because it all seems just too hard. The reality is that it all starts with one little task and grows from there. There are so many little ways to help the environment. Teaching our kids the importance of this is paramount. I know there is so much more I could be doing to help save our planet – there is always something more we can and should do!

Just one baby in cloth nappies for 2 years saves such a huge amount of landfill – and that is just one little bottom doing their share! Imagine if all the little bottoms in the world wore cloth ! It all has to start somewhere.

B cheeks was created in 2009 by Hollie, a stay at home mum to my two beautiful babies Jhet & Charleigh.

I started using modern cloth nappies when my son was 6 months old. Unimpressed with the fit and quality of the nappies I began making my own. With the birth of my little girl I became more creative with styles and fabrics while showing a particular interest in organic fibres. By the end of 2009 the B cheeks organic nappy was created specifically for babies with sensitive skin.

Gone are the days of using terry squares with pins, these days modern cloth nappies are the way to go.

Hi, my name is Megan and I am from regional Queensland. I live with my magnificent husband and 3 ½ year old cyclone daughter. She certainly keeps me on my toes.

About Tail Endz:

I started TailEndz.com.au at the urging of my husband a bit over 2 years ago. I started making Modern Cloth Nappies not long after my daughter was born when I realised that to get my husband to change cloth nappies they were going to have to be easy!! I bought a couple but decided there had to be a cheaper way, thus TailEndz was born. TailEndz now includes some other bits and pieces for sale but is mostly about the very cost effective nappy.

I wanted people to at least try cloth to see how easy it is, so decided I would keep costs low. So far so good. But because of the already rock bottom prices there is currently no discount program but keep your eyes peeled for specials on the home page.

I am passionate about social justice issues and support a number of worthwhile causes. TailEndz sponsors a child through Compassion and I also support Destiny Rescue, an organisation that frees child prostitutes in Asia and Africa. They do an awesome job.

I love the concept of cloth nappies because they are such an easy way to make an environmental difference. It is quite satisfying as you hang the nappies on the line knowing you didn’t cause too much landfill today! I also would love to be sustainable. Let’s Laugh at the Spammers!

I get anything from 10 – 20 of these a day. They are all picked up by the WordPress software, and I have them deleted in a couple of clicks as irrelevant, but I have such a laugh at some of them, I thought I’d share a few golden ones with you!

They invariably come from the US, so are totally irrelevant and only tried out for one way links. They repeat a lot, and are obviously from sort of automatic comment submitting program, (which also gets it wrong) but gee wizz, you’d think there would be some point in actually checking what they are sending out, LOL. ‘Spinning’ comments soon turns them into gibber!

You need recorded a terrific submit. The genuine problem in my closet seemed to be had been to see the swimsuit within prints. Thank you for the good info here. Are you familiar with anything about black mold? We have some in our bathroom and I worry it could be making us sick. We have removed it many times using all types of cleaners but nothing seems to work. I read online somewhere else that black mold can make you have allergic reactions to things that you were not at all allergic to prior to black mold exposure.
