Nappy Wet Bags: Washable, Reusable and Practical

The Nappy Wet Bag is washable, reusable, leakproof and pretty.

Wetbags have many uses. Do you need some baby wet bags? There are lots of online nappy shops which have a wetbag sale, so keep your eye out for bargains when browsing!

Many Cloth Nappy Shops in Australia offer practical, functional and popular nappy wet bags as part of their range, perhaps even coordinating with your nappies. Some have hanging wet bags that you can chuck your used nappies in.

No need for plastic nappy bags even for your use of disposables or throwaway wipes, pop them in a small wetbag and empty later. Though in that case you might as well use washable wipes and save even more money…

Let’s consider three basic types of wetbags:

1. PUL lined fabric wetbags:

These are the most common, and are easily available commercially. Chuck them inside out in the wash with your nappies. They may have a zipper, or a draw-string, or simply a flap with snaps as fastenings.

2. Double Polar Fleece Wet Bags

A popular type of DIY wetbag, these have a double layer of polar fleece, a fabric made from recycled PET bottles! This offers some breathability and the hydrophobic properties of wetbags helps contain dampness. Again, they may have a zipper, or a draw-string, or simply a flap with press studds as fastenings.

3. Two-part Wetbags.

Some suppliers offer wet bags that have two compartments – one for wet, one for dry. Particularly helpful for the cloth nappy user, wipes, clean nappies or a change of clothes go in one side, wet or used in the other. This style can be found zippered together for easy separation at washing time. Otherwise, just have two, keeping the wet one inside the other for extra odour locking.
