Modern Cloth Training Pants – Why Cloth Pull-ups?

Cloth Pull Ups, Modern Cloth Training Pants..

Parents find Cloth Training Pants helpful during a certain stage of toilet training. Children get to practice ‘Pushing down’ (note that phrasing) and ‘Pulling up’ their pants like regular undies while having the peace of mind of a padded pair of knickers. In this article you’ll discover some more insights. Consider a few cloth training pants for the transition between nappies and knickers.

Our Nappy Experts are invited to contribute to these cooperative questions so that you get a range of informative and experienced responses about the topic. Enjoy and discover something new, and share with us in the comment box below.

Let’s see what they have to say:

Modern Cloth Training Pants – Why Should I Try Cloth Pull-ups?

Carly from Pikapu Modern Cloth Nappies:

You’ll find that there is a transition period between nappies and undies and why would you want to go to a disposable pull up when bub has been in cloth for so long. You may find that your toddler will be generally okay during the day after a few weeks but will find that at night time they are having accidents. Therefore training pants are perfect for during the day as they have a PUL lining to contain a start of an accident but they are not like a nappy and will not hold a wee. They are designed to get the toddler to the toilet in time and will only hold a dribble. At night time they will probably need something with a bit more absorbency. I hear Pikapu is designing a training pant that turns into a night nappy for 2-7 year olds. Will be possible available at the end of the year.

Marnie from Noonee Wilga:

When your little one starts potty learning, then it is good to have some cloth training pants for them to wear to help make it quicker and easier for toileting. Training pants are trimmer than nappies and feel much more like regular underwear which helps in the learning process. They can be pulled down and up again making it easier for the child to initiate and participate in toileting themselves.

With cloth training pants, you generally get what you pay for and better quality training pants are more expensive, but they are also much more effective in protecting the environment from accidents.

 Helen from EzyPeezies:

For older babies who won’t lie down for change times and for easy toilet training, pull-up style nappies are a fantastic option. Pullups have made our life sooo much easier, for quick changes in the park, in the back of the car, or anywhere else there isn’t a proper space for a lying down change. These are particularly useful in the beginning of toilet training when you can still offer regular toilet breaks by pulling the nappy down like pants, but you know you are covered in the case of any (inevitable!) accidents. EzyPeezies have a unique product in that we have a fully size adjustable OSFM pull-up nappy that fits from newborn to toilet training, meaning that the same nappy you usee for your baby can double as a super convienent pullup nappy when they are older without having to buy a separate product.

Charndra from Tribal Baby:

Training pants, like the ‘OneWet Pants’ of Noonee Wilga, are excellent. You can learn even more about your options in training pants in this article: EC Clothing; Training Pants. I used them with my first son, who I practiced Elimination Communication with from birth, exclusively! I have many many pairs of Marnie’s pants’ made from the pattern she has for sale at her site above.

 Kate from Bouncing Sprouts:

Gentle on babies skin, fantastic designs, look like ‘big boy/girl’ panties, easy to wash.
